Coming home at night, our client discovered water damage to their property. They promptly arranged for emergency services to locate and put a stop to the leak.

The emergency services report on the after-hours call states: Shut down the main valve, solder and fix broken/leaking pipes and fittings feeding the shower body.

Unfortunately for the client, by the time the leak was discovered, the water already had a headstart in wreaking havoc throughout the property. This leak in the upstairs bathroom caused significant water damage all the way to the basement. The water loss was considered category 3 or black water since the leak originated from the bathroom’s plumbing system. It was also considered class 2 water loss meaning the water loss impacted at least an entire room. Additionally, class 2 damage also means that water has gone up the walls less than 24 inches. Water losses are placed in categories and classes with each variation requiring a different approach to cleaning, drying and mitigation, and consequently impacting costs.

Going back to our client, they quickly arranged for emergency mitigation services, who proceeded to remove water, clean up the home, remove damaged property, and conduct a comprehensive drying process.

With the mitigation process under way, the homeowner enlisted JF Public Adjusters to act on their behalf and manage the insurance claim process.

JF Public Adjusters conducted an on-site inspection to thoroughly understand, scope and document the true extent of the damage. After the claim was filed, JF Public Adjusters prepared all the necessary documentation including a comprehensive estimate to repair or replace any damage.

The claim was settled at $168,000. The client, pleased with the results, stated:

I highly recommend JF Public Adjusters ! They are knowledgeable, professional and best in the business !
